Can I use the Shelly Bulbs with my regular wall switch?

Yes. You can turn the bulb on/off using your wall switch. For remote/smart features, the switch must stay ON so the bulb remains powered.

Is the bulb dimmable?

Yes, you can smoothly dim or brighten the bulb from the Shelly app, voice assistants, or compatible smart home systems. Physical wall dimmers are not supported and may cause flicker or malfunction.

How do I connect the Shelly Bulb to my Wi-Fi?

Screw in the bulb and power it on. Use the Shelly app to add a new device—it will guide you through the pairing process. If the bulb’s not discoverable, turn it on/off 5 times quickly to reset.

Solutions

Shelly EM

Total power monitoring

Know how much energy your home consumes with Shelly EM! The perfect solution for one-phase homes, Shelly EM can make a large difference in your savings by constantly monitoring the overall power in your breaker box and giving you immediate control over your current consumption. Connect a contactor to Shelly EM and save energy by automatically switching off non-essential appliances.

Power consumption analysis for cost optimisation

All connected electrical appliances we don't use during the night or forgotten switched-on lights generate unnecessary energy. Smart energy metering will help you identify and eliminate any redundant energy consumption from each connected appliance around your home or facility.

Heavy load control with contactors

Besides precise power metering, Shelly EM allows contactor control of heavy-load appliances such as powerful water heaters, hot tubs, heat pumps, and large kitchen appliances. This way, you can both monitor and control the consumption of larger appliances around your home or facility and maximize your savings.

Solar panels monitoring and control

Keep track of how much energy your solar panels and wind turbines are generating and save effortlessly. Shelly EM provides real-time information about the efficiency of the solar and wind energy system, as well as historical data on how much energy has been generated and consumed. This helps you control the energy flow, getting the most out of your solar panels and wind turbines. To take it a step further, connect a contactor to Shelly EM, so you can switch off automatically non-essential appliances in your home, in order to save energy.

Preventative monitoring

When an electrical appliance is damaged, it doesn't simply stop working. Usually, it increases the amount of energy used in an attempt to compensate for its operational capacity. Since there is no visible difference in its performance, it might take months before you can identify a problem, leading to inefficiency and wasted energy. Shelly EM, however, will immediately report the increase in energy consumption and save you additional expenses on repairs or equipment replacement.
